Being kidnapped in a dream: meaning

What dream books say

Being taken against your will is read as feeling that your choices have been taken over — by a job, a relationship or an obligation. Tradition asks who or what seems to be holding the wheel. Being kidnapped by a stranger is read as general helplessness; by someone you know as feeling controlled by them. Escaping from kidnappers is taken as reclaiming your freedom and voice. Someone you love being kidnapped is read as fear of losing them, or of losing touch with them. Being the kidnapper is read as wanting to hold on too tightly. The dream is symbolic, not a forecast, and may ask where you have lost control.
