Being arrested in a dream: meaning

What dream books say

An arrest is traditionally read as guilt catching up, or as the sense that your freedom is being limited by rules you did not choose. Dream books ask whether you felt guilty or simply stopped. Being arrested for something you did not do is read as feeling blamed or misunderstood. Being arrested for a real fault is taken as a conscience that wants something put right. Watching someone else arrested is read as judging their behaviour, or seeing a trait of yours in them. Resisting arrest is read as pushing against limits. Like other crime dreams, it describes an inner state, not a forecast, and asks what feels restricted.
