Tsunami in a dream: meaning

What dream books say

A tsunami is one of the most common dreams of being overwhelmed, read as emotion or change too large to hold back. It describes a feeling, not a coming disaster — tradition sees it as stress that has built up out of sight and suddenly feels enormous. Watching the wave approach from the beach is often read as anticipating something you feel unable to stop. Running from it, or finding shelter, stands for the effort to stay on your feet when pressure rises. Seeing the water recede is read as resilience. It can help to name what has been quietly piling up.

A question for you

Has this come up in your dreams before? What was going on in your life then?
