Snakebite in a dream: meaning

What dream books say

A snakebite is traditionally read as a sudden emotional hurt or betrayal, and also as the sharp start of a transformation you did not choose. Because the snake is one of the oldest symbols of renewal, the bite is often taken as change arriving through discomfort. Being bitten by a snake you had been watching is read as a risk you knew about; a bite from one you never saw as a shock from an unexpected direction. Where it bites matters in folk reading: the hand points to something you reached for, the foot to the path you are on. A dream like this describes a feeling of being stung, not something that lies ahead.
