Shaking a cup of numbered temple sticks until one falls is an old way of seeking a word of counsel at a shrine. In a dream it is read as wanting an answer from outside, and as uncertainty you would like someone else to resolve.

My Cosmic Code has a private dream journal. Write a dream down and the app picks out the symbols in it, shows what dream books say about them and, over time, which words recur across your entries. The journal is stored on your device only.
