Feather in a dream: meaning

What dream books say

A feather is read as lightness, a small sign and the ability to let go. Old dream books also link it to words and writing, because of the quill. A white feather is traditionally taken as comfort, peace or a gentle reminder from someone remembered; a black one as mystery or a shadow worth looking at. A feather falling slowly is read as a burden easing; catching one as a small encouragement arriving at the right time. Many feathers, or a feather pillow bursting, are taken as too many thoughts flying at once. The dream may ask what in your life could be held more lightly.
