The breast is traditionally read as nurture, comfort and motherly care — the first source of food and safety. In adult dreams it can also stand for desire, intimacy and the wish to be close. Exposed breasts are read as vulnerability, or as a wish to be seen without hiding. Dream books link a child at the breast to giving of yourself so that something can grow. Feeling discomfort around the image may point to a need for care that is not being met.
